Workflow Overview 

Developing an SAP Unifier for BW project entails the installation and configuration of specific software applications, as well as the customization of the project that is first created with the Project Generator.

Prerequisites

All the tasks in this list are fully explained in Installing SAP Unifier for BW.

·        You have installed Unification Server 5.0 on the same domain as your BW server.

·        You have installed SAP Unifier for BW on top of Unification Server.

·        You have installed SAP Enterprise Portal 5.0 or higher on the same domain as your BW server.

·        You have configured the portal system for integration of the BW Unifier into SAP Enterprise Portal.

·        You have configured the BW system for Drag&Relate functionality of BW data through the BW Unifier.

·        You have configured client machines.

Process Flow

The following is an overview of the workflow for developing a project with the BW Unifier:

       1.      Copy the verify.pse file from the portal machine to the Unification Server machine. See Step 7 in the Setup procedure of Unification Server Installation Guide on SAP Service Marketplace, under http://service.sap.com/epinstall.

       2.      Run the Project Generator to create a new Unifier for BW project; see Project Generation.

       3.      Use the tools in Unification Server to further customize the unifier project; see Project Customization.

       4.      Integrate the BW Unifier project into the portal; see Integrating a Unifier Project into SAP Enterprise Portal.

       5.      Optionally, correlate the Unifier for BW project with other unifier projects, for example, an SAP Unifier for R/3 project. Correlation enables Drag&Relate between unifier projects, unifying structured data across enterprise applications and databases; see Correlation.

After completing the process, you have BW InfoObjects in your portal, enabling you to retrieve and work with business information from the BW system.
