Testing Your JCo Destinations

Use

Once you have maintained entries in the jcoDestinations.xml file for your component systems, you can test your entries for each system using a test component provided in the Enterprise Portal.

This test component allows you to test for each system whether the user that is currently logged on can connect to the SAP system using the JCo Client service provided by the Java iView Runtime.

Prerequisites

You have maintained entries for your component systems in the systems.xml file and uploaded the file into the PCD as described in Editing System Landscape Files.

Procedure

  1. Start the System Landscape Cockpit by choosing System Configuration ® System Landscape in the top-level navigation.
  2. Under JCoClientConnection Test in the list of functions on the left-hand side, choose the JCo destination that you wish to test.

The test component will test whether the user that is currently logged on can connect to the SAP system using the JCo Client service provided by the Java iView Runtime. The results are displayed in the view area on the right-hand side.

Note that as the test component tests the connection for the user currently logged on, the test will fail if this user does not have a user account in the component system or does not have the correct authorizations in the component system.
