The following scenarios describe situations in which you can no longer log on to the portal:

In all of the above cases, you can use the PasswordRestore tool to restore the portal to a normal state.

 

Procedure

  1. On the Portal Server, launch the PasswordRestore tool, which you can find at <Portal_Server>\Enterprise Portal\tools\PasswordRestore.exe.
  2. The following screen appears.

  3. If you want to change the NT user ID and password, enter the new user ID and password and choose Change.
  4. If you want to change the configuration used by the user management configuration tool, choose the configuration you wish to use and choose Change.
  5. If you wish to restore the default configuration shipped with the portal, first delete or rename the registry key for the Default configuration, then choose Restore Default Configuration.
