Mapping Users: Administrator Tool
This iView allows administrators to enter mapping data for groups and roles. This is used if an application uses one technical user to access a system connected to the portal. The administrator enters the credentials of this system user for a user group or role and all users assigned to this group or role use the same logon data to connect to the system.
This tool also allows you to map one user ID to another, however normally each user can enter his or her data using the self registration process described in Mapping Users: User Enters Own Data.

data is stored on the portal LDAP directory server. You have configured where
this data is stored as described in
Defining Location of User Mapping
Data.

1. Start the user mapping iView in the portal administrator role.
You can either start the iView directly from the portal administrator role by choosing System Configuration ® User Mapping, or by choosing the User Mapping button in the Data Source definition function.
2. In the Data Source field, choose the component system or data source for which you wish to map data.
The input fields for this system are displayed. Which input fields appear, depends on information from the system landscape definition.
A
data source appears in the Data
Source field only when its properties necessitate user mapping. A data
source requires user mapping if its authentication method is not set to Anonymous/SSO and the authorization
level is set to Administrator or Administrator & User. For
information on defining these parameters, see
Data Source Parameters.
3. Select the user, group or role that you wish to map to a user.
You can use the search function to help you.

In the case of SAP Systems connected to the portal, you cannot map groups or roles to a user in a SAP System. You can only map a user to a user.
4. Choose Edit.
5. Enter the user ID and password to which you want to map the user, group or role.
Note that if you require the user ID only for Single Sign-On with SAP logon tickets, you must still enter the password to validate the user ID you have entered.
6. Save your entries.

You can also delete the mapping information by choosing Clear.
If an entry has been saved for a particular data source, a tick appears beside the user, group or role in the list.
