Testing Your Entries in Systems.xml

Use

Once you have maintained entries in the systems.xml file for your component systems, you can test your entries for each system using a test function provided in the Enterprise Portal.

This test function allows you to test for each system whether the correct entries are maintained to start applications such as SAP transactions, BW Web applications, or Internet Application Components. In addition it tests the connection to the Internet Transaction Server and Web Application Server of the system.

Prerequisites

You have maintained entries for your component systems in the systems.xml file and uploaded the systems.xml file into the PCD as described in Editing System Landscape Files.

Procedure

Start the System Landscape Cockpit by choosing System Configuration ® System Landscape in the top-level navigation.

The test function is available under System Test in the list of functions on the left-hand side.

Click on Show Test Options under System Test to specify which scenarios you wish to test.

Then choose the system that you wish to test.

The test results are displayed in the view area on the right-hand side.

Check for launching WinGUI and PlatinGUI transactions: Verifies that the correct entries have been made in the systems.xml file to launch transactions in SAP GUI for Windows and SAP GUI for Java

Check for launching WebGUI transactions, EasyWebTransactions and BW 2.x objects: Verifies that the correct entries have been made in the systems.xml file to launch transactions in SAP GUI for HTML, Internet Application Transactions, and BW 2.x Web applications

Check for launching BSP and BW 3.x objects: Verifies that the correct entries have been made in the systems.xml file to launch Business Server Pages (BSP)and BW 3.x Web Applications

Check for definition of Drag and Relate server: Verifies that the correct entries have been made in the systems.xml file for a Drag&Relate server.

Connection test for ITS server: Tests the connection to an Internet Transaction Server (ITS) using the entries in the systems.xml file

Connection to SAP Web Application Server: Tests the connection to a Web Application Server using the entries in the systems.xml file
