The System Landscape Cockpit provides you with all the functions you need to view, edit, test, and activate the system landscape files, systems.xml and jcodestinations.xml.

The System Landscape Cockpit provides you with the following functions:

• View entries in systems.xml and jcodestinations.xml files
• Test R/3 connectivity for a system defined in systems.xml
• Test a JCo destination defined in jcodestinations.xml for the user currently logged on to the portal
• View upload status of systems.xml and jcodestinations.xml files in the portal. Here you can see whether these files are uploaded in the Portal Content Directory (PCD) and whether they are currently active.
• Download systems.xml and jcodestinations.xml files for editing on local drive
• Upload systems.xml and jcodestinations.xml files into PCD
• Activate newly uploaded files in the portal system

As administrator, you can access the System Landscape Cockpit by choosing System Configuration ® System Landscape in the top-level navigation.

The cockpit is split up into two areas: on the left-hand side you can find a list of the available functions; the view area on the right hand side displays information or functions depending on what you choose in the list of functions.
