Integration of Applications and Data Sources 

Purpose

A key advantage offered by the Enterprise Portal is the integration of disparate data and application sources into a seamless user experience. These data and application sources can consist of enterprise applications, Knowledge Management platform, Business Intelligence platform, Web services, Web resources, legacy systems, and much more.

You can integrate any kind of information, applications, and services in the portal using iViews and External Services.

This section covers setting up the portal to enable it to access information, applications, and services in backend systems or from the Web. It outlines the steps required to integrate SAP Systems in the portal. It also describes the data source mechanism used to integrate secured information sources that should only be accessible by users with the appropriate security permissions in the portal.
