Integration of SAP Systems
Purpose
The main options for integrating applications and data from SAP Systems in the Enterprise Portal are the following:
- Migrating roles from SAP Systems into the Enterprise Portal
- Integrating SAP applications as Java iViews or External Services
- Importing business packages
Before you can use these options, you need to connect the SAP System to the portal. The steps you need to take for this are described below.
Process Flow
For each SAP System that you wish to connect to the portal, you must do the following:
- System Landscape:
Add details on SAP System to systems.xml and/or jcodestinations.xml on the Portal Server. Here you define the Web access points used to access the SAP System (for example Internet Transaction Server or Web Application Server), or data needed to access the SAP System by remote function call (RFC).
For more information on which data you need to enter in which file, see
System Landscape.
Single Sign-On: If you wish to use Single Sign-On in the portal, you must configure both the SAP System and the Portal Server accordingly. For more information, see
Single Sign-On.
SAP GUI: If you want to use the SAP GUI for Windows or the SAP GUI for Java to display SAP transactions, you have to install the appropriate GUI on the client computer. For more information, see Support for GUI Types.

For the SAP GUI for Java, you can also make the respective files available by using a server. You can find additional information about the necessary configuration settings for this under
SAP GUI for Java.
Integrate SAP applications in portal by one of the following methods:
- Integrate SAP application as a Java iView in the iView Editor or as an External Service in the Role Editor. For details, see
Integration of SAP Applications.
Migrate roles from SAP System. For details, see
Migration of SAP Roles to the Enterprise Portal.
Import business packages. For more information, visit the iViewStudio at http://www.iviewstudio.com and choose Content Catalog.
