The Business Package for SAP CRM provides employees with central access to the data and information that they require for their daily work.
If you created a user in the SAP CRM backend and the SAP User Management Engine (UME) is not connected to the SAP CRM backend, the user is not automatically available as a portal user. The user needs to be created manually in the portal on the local database, to log on. If you created a user in the SAP CRM backend, and the SAP User Management Engine (UME) is connected to the SAP CRM backend, the user is automatically available as a portal user.
For internal users, you need to assign business roles to the user in the SAP CRM backend. For more information, see Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under “crmUser”, and to the portal role that corresponds to the user's CRM business role, which means either to the three portal roles supported in this business package or to the uploaded business role.
. In addition, you need to assign the required portal roles to the portal user, such asFor external users, the assignment of business roles works differently. You assign a business role to an authorization role (PFCG role). A user with that authorization role is then assigned the corresponding business role. To make CRM objects such as CRM central search available to portal users, the CRM portal desktop is to be loaded at user logon, instead of the standard portal desktop. .To avoid a double Home tab in the above-mentioned roles, create a delta link copy of the standard role and hide the entries for the Home tab. For more information about how to proceed, see SAP Help Portal at
