The Business Package for SAP CRM provides employees with central access to the data and information that they require for their daily work.

Creating Users

If you created a user in the SAP CRM backend and the SAP User Management Engine (UME) is not connected to the SAP CRM backend, the user is not automatically available as a portal user. The user needs to be created manually in the portal on the local database, to log on. If you created a user in the SAP CRM backend, and the SAP User Management Engine (UME) is connected to the SAP CRM backend, the user is automatically available as a portal user.

Internal Users

For internal users, you need to assign business roles to the user in the SAP CRM backend. For more information, see Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under   Business Roles   Define Organizational Assignment  . In addition, you need to assign the required portal roles to the portal user, such as “crmUser”, and to the portal role that corresponds to the user's CRM business role, which means either to the three portal roles supported in this business package or to the uploaded business role.

External Users

For external users, the assignment of business roles works differently. You assign a business role to an authorization role (PFCG role). A user with that authorization role is then assigned the corresponding business role. For more information, see Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under   Business Roles   Overview  .

Adapting the Header Area of the CRM Portal Desktop

To make CRM objects such as CRM central search available to portal users, the CRM portal desktop is to be loaded at user logon, instead of the standard portal desktop. For more information about how to adapt the header area of the CRM portal desktop and how to configure the header objects, see SAP Help Portal at   http://help.sap.com   SAP Business Suite   SAP Customer Relationship Management   SAP CRM 7.0   Application Help   SAP Customer Relationship Management   Components and Functions   Basic Functions   UI Framework and Configuration   Portal Integration   Adapting the CRM Portal Desktop  .

Configuring the Home Tab

To avoid a double Home tab in the above-mentioned roles, create a delta link copy of the standard role and hide the entries for the Home tab. For more information about how to proceed, see SAP Help Portal at   http://help.sap.com   SAP Business Suite   SAP Customer Relationship Management   SAP CRM 7.0   Application Help   SAP Customer Relationship Management   Components and Functions   Basic Functions   UI Framework and Configuration   Portal Integration   Adapting the CRM Portal Desktop  .

Configuring the Digital Asset Management Workset (DAM)
Integration in a Portal Role

To use the Digital Asset Management (DAM) workset in the business package, you need to add it to an existing portal role, for example, the Marketing Professional.

For more information, see Configuring Digital Asset Management.

For more information, see Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under   Marketing   Digital Asset Management  .

Integration in the Attachments Assignment Block

To enable the integration of Digital Asset Management in the Attachments assignment block, you need to do the following:

  • Upload a CRM business role as a portal role, for example, the Marketing Professional

You upload business roles in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under   UI Framework   Portal Integration   Upload Business Role  .

  • Maintain the parameter NAVIGATION_ENABLED_AUTH_ROLES in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under   Marketing   Digital Asset Management   Maintain General Settings in DAM  .
