Master data (such as customer data or product data) that you maintain in an ERP system should be available in realtime for the business processes in CRM. Therefore, SAP CRM offers you a simple way to load your master data from an ERP server to a CRM server.
The master data replication contains the initial data transfer (initial load) and the continuous data transfer (delta load) between ERP and CRM.
Before you can start the initial transfer of master data, you have to ensure that:
● You have read note 418886 for the SAP product.
● The Customizing objects that are necessary for certain master data have been successfully downloaded to CRM.
●
The
organizational model is successfully set up in the CRM system.
Ensure that, before transferring the organizational model to the CRM system,
you have implemented a standard grouping for the internal number assignment
for the business partner.
● The mapping between necessary sales organizations in CRM and ERP has been maintained.
●
The dummy
division is defined.
For further information on how to define the dummy division, see the CRM
Implementation Guide (IMG), under Define
Use of Division and Dummy Division.
The initial transfers of master data follow a sequence, which is given by the dependencies between different master data:
● Business partner
● Contact partner
● Customer hierarchy (optional)
● Materials
● Conditions and pricing procedures
● Equipment
