To assist collaboration with your channel partners, you can use features of the Knowledge Management component of the SAP NetWeaver technology platform to make content such as sales materials or product information available.

You can control which channel partners access which files in SAP NetWeaver Portal. To do this, you use a combination of the following two functions:

  • Access control

    This function enables you to restrict access to files based on roles in SAP NetWeaver Portal.

  • Filtered views

    This function enables you to filter files based on partner classification attributes, so that you can make files available based on their relevance to the partner program.

    The role ep.bp_crm.chm-pm.CHM-PM for channel partners has seven iViews for filtered content on the News page. For more information about this role, see Partner Manager.

    To filter views based on channel partner classification attributes, you make settings in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under   Partner Channel Management   Channel Partner Management   Partner Classification   Assign Channel Partner Process Relationship  .

Caution Caution

The filter does not prevent channel partners from accessing files. Without access control in place, channel partners can still access filtered files, for example, using the search.
