SAP Exchange Infrastructure and CRM 

 

Data in a CRM system landscape is normally exchanged via CRM Middleware, which provides an adapter framework with various adapter types.

 

The following adapters are available:

• R/3 Adapter
• Mobile Client Adapter:
• BW Adapter
• ASCII Adapter
• Groupware Adapter
• XIF Adapter

 

 

In the following cases, it makes sense to connect the Exchange Infrastructure (XI) via the CRM XIF Adapter, which can create and maintain both XML- and IDoc formats:

 

·        A XI system already exists and external systems have already been connected.

·        Data is to be exchanged bidirectionally with external systems.

 

If there is no existing XI system and data is to be migrated from external systems only (without returns ), then the XIF Adapter in connection with the Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) lends itself to this purpose.
