You can assign multiple categorization schemas to a transaction type or an item category. You do this by assigning the schemas to various combinations of transaction type and catalog category, or item category and catalog category. This way, you can now integrate multiple schemas at header level and item level in your application. These schemas are displayed in separate blocks of categorization fields.

To integrate multiple blocks of categorization fields in your application, you must perform the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Process the following activities in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under CRM Cross-Application Components:

    • Define Application Areas for Categorization

    • Assign Transaction Types to Catalog Categories

Process this Customizing activity if you want to use multilevel categorization at header level.

Note that the assignment of a transaction type to a catalog category corresponds to a block of categorization fields on the CRM WebClient UI.

    • Assign Item Categories to Catalog Categories

Process this Customizing activity if you want to use multilevel categorization at item level.

Note that the assignment of an item category to a catalog category corresponds to a block of categorization fields on the CRM WebClient UI.

The following steps describe the settings for multilevel categorization at header level.

  2. On the Categorization Schema page in the CRM WebClient UI, define the schemas to be used, and in the Application Areas page area, assign them to the required combinations of transaction type and catalog category.

  3. In the component for the transaction type for each assignment of transaction type and catalog category, create a new ComponentUsage for the component BTCategories. Use the following naming convention for this: CUBTCategories_<Catalog Category>.

  4. In the overview page for the transaction type, include the new ComponentUsages in the UI Configuration Tool.
