Function documentationData Quality Administration

The data quality administration framework provides you with a set of tasks designed to eliminate duplication of data records and ensure a consistently high standard of data.

Data quality administration provides the following types of validation:

  • Duplicate check as a technically integrated solution, including duplicate identification and duplicate merge, using SAP software or a third-party add-on.

  • Duplicate check by a service provider (agency), including export of data records, upload of results, and post-processing of results (merge).

  • External postal address validation (syntax validation) using an external service provider, with export of data records and upload of results, as above.

  • Content validation for relocation and necrology using a service provider (agency), with export of data records and upload of results, as above.

Features

The framework comprises the functions required to define a validation group as the basis for the tasks, configure the tasks and steps involved, set up the parameters for executing the steps, and perform monitoring and reporting to ensure correct processing and evaluate the efficiency of the process.

Basic elements provided by the framework are as follows:

  • A selection of business partners, referred to as a target group or validation group, for which the steps are executed.

  • Background jobs used to execute the tasks.

  • A central control monitor that checks processing, and an application log detailing any errors.

  • KPI values used to evaluate the data improvement and therefore the efficiency of the process.

The following task types and steps are delivered as standard in data quality administration:
