Features

SAP NetWeaver Business Client for HTML

You can use the dealer portal for warranty claim processing based on the SAP NetWeaver Business Client for HTML. It is not necessary to install the SAP NetWeaver Portal to use this function. Alternatively, you can use the SAP NetWeaver Business Client as a desktop-based integration platform as well as the SAP NetWeaver Portal.

This Web-based user interface is controlled using the authorization role SAP_COCKPIT_DPWTY in the back-end system. This authorization role contains user menus and enables you to access the functions for warranty claim processing via the Web-based user interface.

Prerequisites

You have authorized users and dealers to use the functions for warranty claim processing in the Web-based user interface by assigning them the authorization role SAP_COCKPIT_DPWTY.

Labor Values and Damage Codes from External Catalogs

You can include labor values and damage codes from external catalogs using the open catalog interface (OCI) When you create warranty claims for vehicles or vehicle parts in the dealer portal, you can choose labor values and damage codes from the external catalogs. You can still choose labor values and damage codes using the input help, or enter them manually. If you have linked to a catalog for damage codes, the input help for the field is deactivated.

Prerequisites

  • To be able to call external catalogs for labor values and damage codes, you have set up the relevant link to these catalogs in Customizing for LaunchPads (transaction LPD_CUST). For role DPWTY and instance DPWTY, you must enter your own, customer-specific URLs to indicate where your catalogs are located. You do this by replacing the dummy URL http://url-to-your-catalog.com with your own URLs.

  • In Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under   Warranty Claim Processing   Dealer Portal: Warranty Claim Processing   Business Add-Ins (BAdIs)  , you have tailored the following methods of BAdI: Enhancement of Web Dynpro Component DPWTY_CLAIM_DETAIL to your requirements:

    • PREPARE_CATALOG: The system calls this method before the external catalog is started. The method prepares the data that is transferred from the Web Dynpro application to the external catalog.

    • RETRIEVE_CATALOG: The system calls this method after branching back from the external catalog to the Web Dynpro application. The method evaluates the data transferred from the external catalog to the Web Dynpro application.

Attachments to Warranty Claims

You can add one or more files of different formats as attachments when you create new warranty claims for vehicles or vehicle parts, without saving the warranty claim first. You can change attachments to warranty claims even if the claim itself can no longer be changed.

Prerequisites

In Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under   Warranty Claim Processing   Dealer Portal: Warranty Claim Processing   Define Warranty Claim Statuses for Dealer Portal   you have defined for each status whether or not the attachments to the warranty claim can be changed.
