Function documentationWhat Does the User Interface Look Like?


You use the user interface to perform the daily tasks relevant to your role. These tasks include:

  • Searching for data

  • Editing data

  • Creating data

  • Deleting data

  • Printing data


The graphic below shows you the areas of the user interface:

The table below contains a description of each area:



Work Area

This is used to display and edit the content of the respective pages.

The work area, navigation bar, and header area comprise the navigation frame.

Navigation Bar

This is used to access the pages in the work area, and to navigate between pages.

You can access the home page, as well as the work centers relevant to your role. Furthermore, for example, you can create appointments, tasks, and contacts, and send e-mails.

If you require more space, to display data for example, you can collapse the navigation bar and then expand it again.

Header Area

This displays functions that you can use, for example, to navigate to pages you viewed previously, or to start a search.

The header area contains the system links, saved searches, and page history.

Work Area Toolbar

This displays the functions that you can use to edit content in the work area.

Work Area Title

This displays the title of the page currently displayed in the work area.

System Links

Displays at least three system links.

You can access online help, display system messages, log off from the system, and personalize the user interface.

Central Search

This displays the search menu that contains the objects for which you can search.

The central search is always visible, regardless of the application in which you are currently working.

Page History

This displays which pages you viewed in the course of your work.

You can navigate directly back to any of the pages you have viewed.

Message Bar

This displays information and warning messages/error messages from the system.

You can expand the message bar and view the messages. If the message text is too long, a Details hyperlink appears at the start of the message. You can display the complete message text in a separate window.

In business roles that use communication management software, the following special areas are available on the user interface:




Provides a collection of tools, tailored to your work in different channels.

Account Info

Displays information about the account, for example, the contact person or company.


Displays messages triggered by system events.

Communication Info

Displays technical information about the current contact, such as channel, duration, and status.

Work Modes

Specify whether the user is available for processing inbound contacts.

Context Area

A combination of account information, alerts, communication information, toolbar functions, and options for the work mode.


Contains a link to the soft phone of the communication management software.
