You can use buttons and icons to perform your daily tasks, for example, displaying, editing, deleting, or printing data.

The table below contains a description of general icons, buttons, and hyperlinks:

Icons, Buttons, and Hyperlinks

Function

New (New)

Creates a new business object

Save (Save)

Saves a new or edited business object

You can save a new or edited business object only in the editable overview page. When you save, you can no longer change the data in the overview page.

Delete (Delete)

Deletes a business object

After deleting, you return to the last page you viewed that does not belong to this business object.

In assignment blocks, you can use this function to delete the business object assignments.

Edit (Edit)

Edits a business object

In assignment blocks, you can use this function to edit the detail data of a business object or an assigned business object.

Example Example

You can edit the business appointments of the account, or the organizational data of the sales order.

Back (Back)

Returns to the page that you visited previously

You use this function to return from the edit page or editable overview page of an assigned business object to the overview page of the business page; you can save the changed data here.

Print (Print)

Prints the current page

Help (Help)

Opens the online help

The online help opens for the page you are currently viewing.

Back to Previous Page (Back to Previous Page)

Navigates back to the page you viewed previously

You use this function to navigate from the page that you are currently on to the page you viewed previously.

Forward to Next Page (Forward to Next Page)

Navigates to the next page

You use this function to navigate to the page that you viewed after a page that you navigated back to.

Show Page History (Back) Menu/Show Page History (Forward) Menu (Show Page History (Back) Menu/Show Page History (Forward) Menu)

Opens the dropdown box under and

In the respective dropdown boxes, you can choose the pages to which you want to navigate.

Copy (Copy)

Copies a business object

Cancel (Cancel)

Cancels and returns to the previous page

Your latest changes are not saved, and you see the data that you saved last.

Update List (Update List)

Refreshes the display

Export to Spreadsheet (Export to Spreadsheet)

Exports data to spreadsheets, for example, to Microsoft Excel

Personalize (Personalize)

Personalizes the display in pages, tabular assignment blocks, and tables

Open/Close Chart (Open/Close Chart)

Opens and closes a table shown as a chart, in result lists and assignment blocks

You can choose between pie charts and bar charts.

Input Help/Search Help (Input Help/Search Help)

Opens the input help or search help for the relevant field

Date Selection (Date Selection)

Opens the calendar

Add (Add)

Adds an existing business object, in assignment blocks, for example

Copy Line (Copy Line) and Remove Line (Remove Line)

Adds and removes additional search lines in the search

Select All/Deselect All (Select All/Deselect All)

Selects and deselects all search results in the result list and in other lists

Show (Show) and Hide (Hide)

Shows and hides assignment blocks on the overview page

Back to Top (Back to Top)

Goes to the top of an overview page

This icon is on the right of the title bar in all assignment blocks.

In long overview pages with a large number of assignment blocks, you can use this icon to return to the top of the page instead of scrolling vertically to it.

Configure Page (Configure Page)

Starts the configuration of the corresponding page

Hide/Show Configurable Areas (Hide/Show Configurable Areas)

Shows and hides the configurable areas on a page

When you click the selected area, you start the configuration of the corresponding area.

Button Search

Launches the search on the search page

You can also launch the search by pressing the Enter key.

Button Clear

Resets the search fields and the result list in the search

Button Reset to Default

Resets to the default settings, in the personalization of the user interface layout, for example

Button Insert

Inserts an assigned business objects

In an assignment block, click Edit List to add more business objects to the list.

Button Mass Change

Applies changes that were made to one business object, to multiple business objects

Button Follow-Up

Creates a follow-up transaction, such as a task, interaction log, business activity, appointment, or e-mail

Button Output

Prints or sends a business object by fax or e-mail

Hyperlinks Show Search Fields and Hide Search Fields

Shows and hides search fields on the search page

Hyperlinks Expand and Collapse

Expands and collapses additional lines in tables

You can use these hyperlinks to expand and collapse additional lines in tables, when a specific number of lines is exceeded.

Hyperlink Edit List

Navigates to the list of assigned business objects

When you click this hyperlink in assignment blocks, you can directly edit the list of assigned business objects.

In business roles that use communication management software, you require special functions to make and accept calls.
