Function documentationNavigating from Xcelsius Dashboards to Interactive Reports

You can create navigation links from Xcelsius dashboards to interactive reports, to enable fast switching from the visible overview of the dashboard to the detailed display of the same analysis data in the interactive report. You can use filters to restrict the navigation to specific data, for example, to the opportunities of a specific sales stage in the opportunity pipeline dashboard (/CRMBW/XC_OPP_PIP).

To use this function, you must activate the business function SAP BusinessObjects Integration and CRM Interactive Reporting (CRM_ANA_BOB).

Prerequisites

To create navigation links, you require SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise.

The dashboard and the interactive report must have the same data basis. You therefore need to check whether the dashboard and the target report use the same fields. This means that you can only use filters in navigation when the filter fields are available in both the dashboard and the report.

The interactive report that you want to use as the navigation destination must exist as an activated version.

Activities

You define navigation connections in SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise. You use an embedded Microsoft Excel table for this (for more information, see Navigating from Xcelsius Dashboards to Overview Pages).

The following settings are valid for dashboards that are organized on the basis of Flash Island (UI component GS_ANA_DASH), for example for the dashboard Opportunity Pipeline.

  1. Start SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise. Choose Manage Connections (Ctrl+M) and Add to create a new connection.

  2. For the type of navigation connection, choose External Interface Connection.

Now define the properties of the new connection:

  1. Define a table cell for the navigation trigger:

    • As Range Name, enter EVENTTRIGGER_OLTPNAV.

    • Under Range Type, select Cell.

    • For Range, select a table cell, for example 'Opportunity Pipeline'!$G$20.

    • Under Access, select Read.

  2. For the navigation, define a pushbutton of type Toggle Button, for example (for more information, see the help for SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise).

Under Insertion, specify the table cell defined for triggering the navigation, for example 'Opportunity Pipeline'!$G$20.

You can also define a graphical element of the dashboard as the pushbutton, for example the bar chart for the sales stages in the opportunity pipeline dashboard.

  3. Define a table cell for the navigation destination.

As Range Name, enter EVENTPARAM_ OLTPNAV_REPID.

In the cell specified under Range, enter the ID of the interactive report to which the navigation link should lead. Use the system table CRMC_OR_TEXT to identify the ID of a particular CRM interactive report.

You can define additional filters for calling an interactive report. For example, you can define that only the information for the opportunities of a particular sales stage are displayed when you call the report.

You can define a maximum of 10 filters for each navigation connection.

You define filter parameters as follows:

  1. Define a table cell.

As Range Name, enter EVENTPARAM_ OLTPNAV_NAME1.

Enter the technical name of the filter in the cell.

You can identify the technical name of the filter as follows:

    1. Start the wizard for the creation of interactive reports (for more information, see Creating Interactive Reports in CRM). Specify the name of the interactive report to which the navigation link should lead. In step 2 of the wizard (Select Fields), select the field that you want to filter. Choose Show Technical Details to find the name of the InfoObject that is assigned to the filter field.

    2. Use the system table CRMD_OR_BWFLDMAP to identify the filter name, with the help of the InfoObject name. Specify the report area (INFO_TYPE) and the name of the InfoObject (BW_INFO_OBJ_NAME), and choose the active (A) version (OBJVERS) of the InfoObject.

Alternatively, you can search for the name of the filter in the wizard. However, you must first make a personalization setting: Choose Start of the navigation path Personalize Next navigation step Personalize Settings Next navigation step Display Key in Selection Lists End of the navigation path. In step 3 of the wizard (Define Filter), open the input help for filter fields, and identify the technical name of the filter field there.

  2. Define another table cell for the transfer of the filter value.

As Range Name, enter EVENTPARAM_ OLTPNAV_VALUE1.

Use the corresponding Xcelsius designer functions for the dynamic insertion of the value in the cell.
