New fields that you created using the Application Enhancement Tool can be made available for CRM interactive reporting. This depends on the enhanced business object and its business object parts.

You can choose Regenerate in the Tables and Fields block to regenerate objects that need to be regenerated in another client (for example, Customizing client) or in the target system (online transactional processing, OLTP).

Prerequisites

To use CRM interactive reporting, you need authorization role CRM Operative Reporting User Role (SAP_CRM_OR_USER) in the Business Intelligence (BI) client and in the CRM client. To make fields in CRM interactive reporting available, you need authorization role Activation of CRM OLTP Reporting InfoTypes (SAP_CRM_OR_ACTIVATE) in the Business Intelligence (BI) client.

You can make fields available for CRM interactive reporting in the following enhanced business objects and their business object parts. Some business objects are covered by other report areas in CRM interactive reporting. You can find these report areas in brackets behind the business object:

Field Types and CRM Interactive Reporting Types

All field types except Text with small and capital letters can be assigned to CRM interactive reporting types. In the following table, you can see which field types can be assigned to which CRM interactive reporting types:

If you select Characteristic or Key Figure as the CRM interactive reporting type in the CRM Interactive Reporting field in the Fields block, these fields are automatically made available in the search criteria and in the result list for enhanced business objects.

You cannot change between Characteristic and Key Figure, and conversely. However, as a workaround you can first choose Not Used and in a second step, choose Characteristic or Key Figure.

Field Length

The field length of fields that are used in CRM interactive reporting is restricted to 60 characters.

Generation of CRM Interactive Reporting

CRM interactive reporting is locally generated, which means that if enhancements that are relevant for CRM interactive reporting are transported to another system, these enhancements are not visible in CRM interactive reporting in the target system. This means that you need to generate the enhancements locally in the target system. To generate enhancements locally in the target system, do one of the following:

  • Use report AXT_EXT_ACTIVATE_LOCAL.

  • Start the Application Enhancement Tool in the target system, open the enhanced object, and select the field enhancement that you want to regenerate locally. Choose Regenerate. The Regenerate dialog box shows you that the local regeneration can be performed.
