A segment is a combination of selection criteria (attributes) from various data sources, and is always part of a segmentation model.
To be part of a segment, a business partner, marketing prospect, or product must meet all the selection criteria for that segment. Segments are the basis for forming target groups and product segments that are to be used for specific marketing activities, such as campaigns.
The following functions are available for segments:
Entering the planned number of business partners, marketing prospects, or products that should meet the selection criteria within the segment
Counting functions to determine and display the number of business partners, marketing prospects, or products that meet the selection criteria within a segment
Generating a segmentation basis
Generating target groups or product segments from segments
Viewed graphically, a segment is a vertical branch within a segmentation model.
