Function documentationTask-Based User Interfaces

You can build task-based user interfaces (UIs) to make it easier for users to perform their daily tasks. The user interface dynamically supports users in performing their daily tasks.

Prerequisites

You have created a task-based user interface in the BSP Component Workbench and you have assigned the required views. To assign views to a task-based UI, you select the view set in the runtime repository of the BSP Component Workbench. On the view area of the view set you can use the context menu to add views to the task-based UI. These views will be available in the UI configuration of the corresponding task-based UI.

Features

The user interface is structured in several steps. Every step represents a small, easy part of the overall task. The users are guided through these steps to accomplish their task. In the UI configuration, you can select the views that you want to use for the task-based UI. You can define the steps of the task-based UI and define the order of these steps. A view can be assigned to every step.

Activities

You start the UI configuration of the task-based UI in the same way as for the overview page. In the UI configuration you can assign views to the task-based UI. You define the order and the name of each step. Additionally, you can define an optional explanatory text for every step. If you define a new text, you need to enter an ID for this text. You can also reuse an existing text, which you can choose via the corresponding button.
