Service Contract Templates

You use service contract templates to define reusable data, which minimizes the amount of time required to create a service contract, a usage-based service contract, or a service contract quotation.

The user interface for the service contract template is a configuration of the component for service contracts with object type BT112_SCT.

Prerequisites

You have configured the transactions for service contract templates in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Transactions Basic Settings .
The service contract template is predefined as follows in Customizing:
- Transaction type: SCT for service contract templates
- Item categories: SCNT for service contract templates and SMPT for service plans
You have set up copying control. For more information, see Copying Business Transactions.

Depending on your Customizing settings, you can:

Create a new service contract template
Copy an existing service contract template
Create a service contract or service contract quotation as a follow-up transaction, based on the service contract template
Create a service contract template as a follow-up transaction, based on a service contract or a service contract quotation

Example

You create service contracts often for the maintenance of your copier, which is type XY. To make it easier to create service contracts, you create a service contract template, in which you enter the item data of the services in the product list, such as change cartridge and clean cylinder, and define the appropriate conditions.
