You can use completion rules to define what should happen once the customer has released the total target quantity or target value of products against a contract. For each item in the contract, you can use Customizing to define how the system reacts when target quantities or target values are reached:

  • The system should set the contract status to Completed once the target quantity or target value has been reached (this prevents any more contract release orders being created for this contract).

  • The customer may exceed the target quantity or target value. The system does not react, or only with a warning message.

  • For quantity contracts: The system splits the item that leads to the target quantity being reached. The first item contains the quantity that fills the contract, and the second item contains the remaining quantity. The contract requirements are no longer valid for the second item.

Integration

The completion rules can be integrated with the action profile so that when a contract reaches the status Completed, for example, an action can be generated informing the sales representative that he or she should contact the customer.

Prerequisites

You have selected a completion rule in Customizing, under Start of the navigation path Customer Relationship Management Next navigation step Transactions Next navigation step Basic Settings Next navigation step Define Item Categories End of the navigation path. Under Customizing Item for the relevant item category, choose a completion rule in the Completion field, in the Contract Data section.

Activities

The way in which the system processes completed contracts depends on the Customizing settings that you have made. In general, the following applies:

  • If you create a contract release order, and the contract receives the status Completed, the system does not link the sales order with the contract.

  • If you create a contract release order for a quantity or value that exceeds the target quantity or target value in the contract, the system displays a warning message and you can choose whether to proceed. The system then sets the contract status to Completed.

The system does not display a warning if you create the contract release order in SAP Mobile Sales.
