Function documentationMass Change for Sales Orders

You can use mass changes to make specific changes to multiple order items simultaneously. This reduces your workload, which involves a multitude of data changes at header level and item level.

You can execute mass changes either at header level or item level. You need to decide whether you want to execute a mass change only at item level or only at header level. You can also choose whether you want to execute the mass change in the dialog or in the background.

Caution Caution

Execute the mass change only if you are sure that the changes should be made in the corresponding fields. You cannot undo the changes after saving. When executing mass changes, you should be aware that the change affects a large number of items.

End of the caution.

Features

You can change data simultaneously for a selected quantity of order items. The following options are available:

  • You can execute the mass change at item level

  • You can execute the mass change at header level

There are certain changes that you should make only at item level, such as changing the ship-to party. If you make a change to the ship-to party at header level, this does not necessarily mean that you have made the change for all order items. This is because the value of this field in the sales order header is copied to the order item as a default value only. This also applies to the External Reference field. A typical mass change at header level is changing the sold-to party for a large number of sales orders.

After the execution of a mass change, the system creates a log for the executed changes in the dialog, as well as in the background, and informs you of any errors that occurred.

Adding Customer-Specific Fields

If you want to use additional fields in the mass change, you must enter them in the Customizing table CRMV_MASS_MAPP. You make the settings for this in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, under Start of the navigation path Transactions Next navigation step Settings for Sales Transactions Next navigation step Assign Fields for Mass Changes End of the navigation path.

You must also enter the field in the relevant interface structures, and enhance the CRM WebClient UI with this field.

If you do not want to make a field available to your users for the mass change, you need to configure the CRM WebClient UI accordingly.
