Function documentationService Agreements

Business partners define conditions, such as prices, and releasable products in long-term outline agreements. These conditions and products are valid for all service contracts or service orders that are created with reference to the service agreement.

Unlike service contracts (value/quantity), service agreements contain no target values or target quantities.

Note Note

You cannot replicate service agreements to SAP ERP.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

The following Customizing settings are relevant for service agreements:

  • Transaction type OAS - Service Agreement with the leading transaction category Group Contract (BUS2000107)

  • Item category OASP - Service Agreement with the object type Outline Agreement Item Service CRM

  • Agreement determination

If you want the system to find valid service agreements when follow-up transactions (such as service orders) are created, activate the indicator for agreement determination in Customizing for the transaction type.

To do so, in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, under Start of the navigation path Transactions Next navigation step Basic Settings Next navigation step Define Transaction Types End of the navigation path, go to the detailed display of the desired transaction type. In the Agreement Determin. (Agreement Determination) field, select the determination type that you want the system to use.

    Note Note

    • If you want the system to search for both contracts and agreements, service contracts have higher priority than service agreements. In other words, the system only searches for service agreements if it finds no valid service contracts.

    • If a service order is created with reference to a service contract, which in turn is a follow-up transaction of a service agreement, the service order is only checked against the service contract, but not against the service agreement.

    End of the note.
  • Hierarchy determination

    • In Customizing activity Define Transaction Types, for transaction type Service Agreement (OAS in the standard system), in Dialog Structure: Definition of transaction types, in section Profiles, edit the following:

      • In field Authrzd Hier. Cat. (Hierarchy Category for Authorized Sold-To Parties), enter the partner hierarchy category that should be used in hierarchy determination.

      • In field Partner Determ.Proc. (ID of a Partner Determination Procedure), select a procedure that is assigned to function category 0019 Auth. Partner: Sold-to Party by way of the partner function. This assignment looks like this in the standard system:

In field Partner Determ.Proc. (ID of a Partner Determination Procedure), the value 00000107 - Outline Agreement Header is assigned to the transaction type Service Agreement.

The Function (Partner Function) 0121 Authorized Sold-To Party is assigned to this partner determination procedure in Customizing activity Define Partner Determination Procedure in section Partner Functions in Procedure.

The value 0019 Auth. Partner: Sold-to Party is assigned to this partner function as a Function category in Customizing activity Define Partner Functions.

You can find Customizing activities Define Partner Determination Procedure and

Define Partner Functions in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Start of the navigation path Basic Functions Next navigation step Partner Processing End of the navigation path.

    • For the transaction types for which a service agreement determination should occur, such as service orders (SRVO), service confirmations (SRVC), or complaints (CRMC), select value B Authorized Partners According to Group Hierarchy in field Search Auth. Partner (Authorized Partners in Contract Search), which you can find in Customizing activity Define Transaction Types in the Dialog Structure: Definition of transaction types in section General. You can also select value C Authorized Partners According to List and Hierarchy, if normal business partners who are entered as Authorized Partners in the service agreement should also be considered in the determination.

  • To trigger a dialog box with the exploded business partner hierarchy node when you create a service order as a follow-up transaction from the service agreement, make the following settings in Customizing:

    • In Customizing activity Define Transaction Types in Dialog Structure: Definition of transaction types, for each transaction type for which service agreement determination should occur, check the value in section Profiles, field Partner Determ.Proc. (ID of a Partner Determination Procedure). In Customizing for the standard system, this value is 00000006 - SAP Service Header.

    • In Customizing activity Define Partner Determination Procedure, for example for partner determination procedure 00000006 - SAP Service Header, in section Partner Functions in Procedure for the Function (Partner Function) 00000001 Sold-To Party, in field Access sequence, select value 0122 - Preceding Document With Hierarchy Explosion Release-Authorized Sold-To Party.

  • Copying control

You must set the copying control for the transaction type of the desired follow-up transactions, such as service order. In the standard system, copying control for service agreements is available for the following transactions:

    • Service contracts (SC)

    • Service contract quotations (SCQ)

    • Service orders (SRVO)

    • Service order quotations (SRVQ)

You will find the necessary activities in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Start of the navigation path Transactions Next navigation step Basic Settings Next navigation step Copying Control for Business Transactions End of the navigation path.

  • Price agreements

Date profile CONT002 (Date Profile for Service Contracts) in Customizing is relevant for processing service agreements.

Features

Service agreements make it possible for service providers to create long-term outline agreements with information about prices and services that are valid for certain business partners or a certain group of business partners (business partner type or business partner hierarchy). Service agreements may include the following predefined data:

  • Services

  • Service level agreements

  • Follow-up activities

  • Price agreements

  • Billing

Service providers can create the following follow-up transactions with reference to a service agreement:

  • Service order quotations

  • Service orders

  • Service contract quotations

  • Service contracts

Creating Service Agreements for a Business Partner Type

You can create a service agreement for a business partner type without specifying a certain sold-to party. This means that the agreement is valid for all business partners who are assigned to the corresponding partner type, and who are assigned the same sales area data as is assigned to the service agreement.

Creating Service Agreements for a Business Partner Hierarchy

In addition to the group form of the business partner type, there is another grouping function available: grouping using the business partner hierarchy. If you use this option, you can assign a hierarchy tree or hierarchy node (section of a tree) to a service agreement.

The goal is to define assignments for a large group of customers. If a service order is created for a customer who is part of the business partner hierarchy that is assigned to the service agreement, the system determines the service agreement and assigns it to the service order. This way, for example, you could copy the price agreements from the service agreement right into the service order.
