The following example illustrates how you can use activities to manage your workload.

  1. Customer John Connelly from Tools Inc. calls sales representative Lucy Hale to arrange an appointment with her for March 5, when she will present the latest products from her company. During the telephone call, Lucy enters an activity of type appointment, and an appropriate category, for March 5. This appointment appears in her calendar.

  2. Andrew Montgomery is a colleague of Lucy Hale, and will also need to be at the presentation. She therefore enters Andrew as an attendee so that he can see the activity in his calendar.

  3. The presentation needs to be ready by February 22 so that it can be passed on to the graphics department. Lucy therefore creates a task for herself to remind her to finish it by February 21. She also creates a task for March 4 for finalizing the preparations for the visit.

  4. Lucy manages her workload mainly using the Worklist Alerts and by searching for Activities. On February 21, she was sick but as soon as she returns to work, the task appears on her Worklist, so that she knows immediately what she needs to complete that day.
