Scenario Planning
You can use this business process to model and compare a number of different scenarios of marketing projects. Integration with the business intelligence capabilities of SAP NetWeaver helps you to forecast and assess the appropriateness of a scenario. When you have decided which scenario best suits your needs, you can use the marketing projects from this scenario for planning and execution in Marketing Planner.

1. Create scenario set (CRM Server)
To start the scenario planning process, you create a scenario set. When you do this, you must define a planning scope; this contains all of the marketing projects that you want to consider in your scenario planning.
2. System generates scenario (CRM Server)
The system automatically generates an initial operative scenario.
3. Create or assign marketing projects to scenario (CRM Server)
You either choose additional marketing projects from Marketing Planner, or you create new ones in Scenario Planner.
4. Create and maintain alternative scenarios (CRM Server)
You create alternative scenarios to reflect other possible approaches to your goal.
5. Compare scenarios (CRM Server)
You analyze the projected outcome for a single scenario, or you compare the operative scenario with the alternative scenario or scenarios to see which one best responds to your requirements.
6. System provides data (BI system)
Scenario Planner uses the business intelligence capabilities of SAP NetWeaver to perform the analysis.
7. Choose operative scenario (CRM Server)
Based on the results of the analysis, you now decide which scenario is most likely to achieve the desired goals, and thus set it to operative. The system automatically sets the old operative scenario to alternative.
