Purpose

Once you have uploaded existing territories from an external planning tool, you can create a new territory in CRM Enterprise and place it in the territory hierarchy.

Prerequisites

You have imported a territory hierarchy and its territories from an external planning tool or created them manually in CRM Enterprise.

You carry out the following steps in the SAP Easy Access Menu or in the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® Territory Management ® Maintain Territory Hierarchy.

       1.      Define levels of territory hierarchy.

       2.      Define attributes defining territories.

       3.      Decide about the position of territory in territory hierarchy.

       4.      You create a new territory.

When you create the territory, you place it in the territory hierarchy by entering the higher-level territory ID.

       5.      Define attribute values for new territory

You specify attribute values for the new territory to describe its scope. For more information, see Structure linkAssigning Attributes to Territory.

       6.      You assign an employee responsible to the new territory via the employee’s position.

       7.      You terminate the old territory.
