Creating a Sub-Namespace 

Prerequisites

·        You have received a request for a sub-namespace from a third-party. The third-party can be:

¡        Your customer, if you are an implementation partner of SAP

¡        An Internal group, if you are a customer of SAP

·        The sub-namespace request has all the details like namespace prefix, repository ID, third-party name and contact person.

If you are an implementation partner and you have received a request from your customer, you have to update the ARS_KNOWNREP table with the repository ID for which a sub-namespace has been requested.

Procedure

...

       1.      Choose Tools ® View Namespaces.

The Namespaces window appears.

       2.      Choose Create Namespace.

The Create / Register Namespace window appears.

       3.      Enter the requested subnamespace prefix in the Prefix field.

       4.      Select the required repository ID from the Repository ID list box.

       5.      Choose OK.

The Namespaces window displays the subnamespace along with its repository ID and checksum value.

The checksum value is a unique alphanumeric string that must be provided to the third-party for registering the subnamespace.

       6.      Choose Copy CheckSum.

The checksum value generated for the namespace is copied to clipboard. You can paste this value in the document that you provide to the requested third-party, along with the subnamespace and repository ID details.
