Purpose

Business-to-Business (B2B) for Occasional Usersis the Business-to-Consumer (B2C) scenario of the SAP Internet Sales application with integrated Business-to-Business (B2B) User Administration.

The main difference between B2B for Occasional Users and the B2C scenario is that Web shop users do not have the option of registering themselves as they do in the B2C scenario.

As a B2B Web shop operator, you can use B2B for Occasional Users if you want to make use of an Internet Sales scenario with the following features:

·        Easy portal integration

·        Easy-to-use, thanks to a simplified user-interface (as in B2C)

·        Low complexity through the use of B2C functions

As a B2C Web shop operator, you can use B2B for Occasional Users if you want a B2C scenario with the special feature that your Web shop customers cannot register themselves.

Process Flow

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

       1.      Log on to Web shop in vendor’s SAP CRM system

The customer logs on to the Web shop with their user ID and password.

       2.      System checks business partner or Internet user

The customer can optionally create and change a customer profile in the Web shop. Customers can also change their password. The system checks and saves the customer profile in SAP CRM

The system checks the customer profile.

       3.      Define customer settings

The customer defines his settings in the Web shop.

       4.      System displays product catalog (J2EE)

       5.      Browse catalog and select product

       6.      Configure product

The customer can configure products to his/her needs in the Web catalog and transfer them, as configured, to the purchase order.

During the process of interactive configuration, the SAP Internet Pricing and Configurator (SAP IPC) informs customers which product options can be combined and automatically checks the selected product options are consistent and complete.

You can also use the SAP IPC to configure prices, including complex pricing, and support customers during a search for products that either partly or fully match the options selected for a particular product. The Sales Pricing Engine determines the price automatically.

       7.      Add product to shopping basket

The customer adds chosen and configured products to the purchase order.

       8.      System creates shopping basket

The system (J2EE) creates a shopping basket as soon as the customer has transferred the first product to the shopping basket. The shopping basket is updated if the customer orders further products. The system saves the shopping basket in SAP R/3 (J2EE)

       9.      Proceed to checkout and check delivery address

   10.      Select payment method and delivery type

   11.      The SAP R/3 system performs an availability check and pricing, then prepares order

The SAP APO system determines availability and quantities are reserved in SAP APO each time orders are created or updated. The availability of the customer’s products is displayed to them at item level in the purchase order.

   12.      Calculate tax (US)

Optionally, for example for vendors in the United States of America, tax can be calculated using your E-Service provider.

   13.      Check and save order

The customer checks and saves the order. The order is transferred to the SAP R/3 system and saved.

   14.      System provides order status for customer

The system determines the status in SAP R/3.

   15.      E-Service tracks order

Optionally, further information can be displayed by an external service provider. For example, the carrier can display the delivery status for example.

   16.      The SAP R/3 system provides the order status

The system determines the status in SAP R/3.

   17.      View order status

The customer can monitor the order status in the Web shop, and can change the order, depending on the status, in the Web shop (see Structure linkDisplaying and Processing Transactions and Structure linkCreating and Changing a Purchase Order).

   18.      System provides invoice

The system accesses the invoice information stored in SAP R/3.

   19.        View invoice

The customer can display the invoice in the Web shop (see Structure linkDisplaying Invoices).
