Business Partner Search
This function allows you to find, display, change, or create contact information for business partners in the Interaction Center (IC) WinClient. There are two visible component slots on the screen where you can use this function:
· Business Partner
Visible component where you specify search criteria and run the search. This function always appears in slot one of the framework.
· BP Search
Extended search workspace that can be launched from the action box or can appear automatically in the application area. You can use one or both of the following available workspaces:
¡ Employee search workspace
Finds employee information.
¡ Business partner search
Finds contact person, customer, and installed base (IBase) information. You can search for several different objects of different types, such as company and contact person, at the same time. You can also use multiple business partner attributes or IBase component attributes as search criteria. This workspace contains a business partner creation function.
Your system administrator has completed the appropriate Interaction Center (IC) setup activities. For more information, see SAP Solution Manager.

To make this feature available in the application, your system administrator can:
· Specify certain default values (such as role, category) for the creation of new business partners in Customizing. For more information, see SAP Solution Manager.
· Maintain other attributes by including them in the HTML page representing the screen for the business partner search (see section HTML-based configuration of the user interface below).
· HTML-based configuration of the user interface
The user interface of the business partner search component is based on HTML templates, which define the layout of the search, display, and maintenance attributes of searchable object types. Default templates are available for your system administrator to copy and modify to create personalized layouts for your user interface. Your system administrator can choose which template to use and which information from the search will appear in the HTML template in Customizing for the Interaction Center in:
¡ Define Profiles for Search Strategies
¡ Define Customer-Specific Search Control
To modify the
default templates, use the SAP Web Repository (transaction SMW0). For more information,
see
Web Object
Maintenance.
