Purpose

This process uses the tour planning function of the Mobile Sales application to identify customers that can be visited within one sales tour by a sales representative. Tour Planning of SAP CRM Mobile Sales enables sales representatives to effectively plan sales tours as a series of business activities and update the statuses of these business activities on their mobile clients.

Process Flow

...

       1.      Select business partners or contact persons

You can search and select customers who are to be included in a sales tour. You can, for example, remove those customers from the list who you have already visited in the past month.

       2.      Choose relevant records and determine visit schedule

You can select the customer records in the order that you want to visit them.

       3.      Choose date and start time of tour

You can select the date and the start time of the tour from the Mobile Sales calendar.

       4.      Start generation of activities

When you trigger the creation of activities, the system generates and saves the new business activities automatically. These business activities are created consecutively with an interval of half an hour each. The first business activity is scheduled at the specified start time.

       5.      Modify scheduled activities

You can now modify the scheduled activities if required. If you want to change any appointments after you have created them, for example, to allow longer traveling times, then you must select the required appointments in the Calendar, and extend the time interval.

       6.      Synchronize data

When you have finished modifying the scheduled activities, you run ConnTrans to synchronize the mobile client data with CRM Enterprise.

       7.      System replicates data

The system ensures that the data entered on the mobile client is replicated to the CRM Server database. This ensures that a sales manager can access the latest developments of an activity and similarly ensure smoother sales operations for all sales team members. If there is any change in the data in any of the systems such as the CRM Server, then you must to run ConnTrans again to send the data back to the mobile client.
