Personalized Product Recommendations 

Use

This function enables you to offer the customer products from your Web shop that he or she may be interested in.

The customer profile is used to assign the customer to one or more target groups, and the Top n product list for the target groups is displayed as a product recommendation. You can also manually add further products to the top n product list for a target group.

The products to be suggested are determined in the Business Information Warehouse.

Prerequisites

·        You have entered an attribute set in shop management, and thereby defined which data is queried in customer profile maintenance in the Web shop.

·        The logged on customer has maintained his or her profile in the Web shop. In this profile, he or she has entered various personal information such as age group, gender, favorite author, and so on.

Features

The personalized product recommendations consist of the following individual functions:

·        Display personalized product recommendation

This subfunction allows a logged on customer with a maintained customer profile to display a list of assigned product recommendations. If the customer allows cookies, the personalized product recommendations are also displayed even if the customer is not logged on.

A hyperlink allows the customer to display detailed information for each product. Similarly, the customer can copy each recommended product to the current transaction or shopping basket.

·        Display negative message

¡        If the customer has not yet maintained a customer profile, a message is displayed asking him or her to maintain a customer profile.

¡        If no top n product lists or only empty top n product lists are available for a customer’s profile or target group, the customer receives the message that no personalized product recommendations can currently be displayed.
