User Settings in the Segment
Builder
Before you begin modeling profiles and target groups, it is important that you maintain the settings that are to apply to your user each time you start the Segment Builder. These settings control for example how counting operations are performed and on which objects.

Note that these
settings are not directly visible to you once you begin working with the
Segment Builder. For example, you cannot see whether or not you are
working with samples unless you check your user settings. Therefore it is recommended that you check
your user settings each time you access the Segment Builder.
These settings include determining whether:
· A profile set is opened upon start-up (and if so which one).
· An attribute list is opened upon start-up (and if so which one).
· Sampling is used when modeling profiles and if so, whether sampling is based on master groups
· If sampling based on master groups is used, which master groups and sample optimization methods are used
· The number of business partners matching a profile is to be automatically counted or not.
· How many business partners are initially displayed when you choose to display the business partners in a target group.
· Whether the system should automatically save all changes that you make to objects in Segment Builder. When you leave the transaction, you will no longer be prompted to save your data.
· Whether the changes that you make to a target group (adding/deletion of business partners) are retained or overwritten if the target group is generated again.
To make your settings, in the Segment Builder, choose Extras ® Personal Settings.
