Function documentation Update Channel Inventory with Resale Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function enables the system to update channel inventory with resale data reported by your channel partners.

Integration

The system validates data and performs duplicate check before updating channel inventory with resale data.

Prerequisites

You have released the transmissions (from your channel partners) with whose data you want to update channel inventory. See: Transmission Management

Features

If the record passes the validations and duplicate check, the system updates channel inventory as explained below:

...

       1.      The system searches for price buckets with matching search attributes you configured in Customizing.

The default system searches for price buckets with the same sales area, product and channel partner. You can add more attributes to this set.

For more information, see:

IMG ® Customer Relationship Management ® Channel Management ® Channel Sales ® Channel Inventory and Resale Processing ® Channel Inventory Tracking ® Channel Inventory ® Define Price Bucket Search Attributes

       2.      The system consumes quantities in the matching price buckets on a first in first out (FIFO) basis. That is, the available quantity in the oldest matching price bucket is reduced by the resale quantity. If there is a shortfall in the oldest price bucket, the system moves to the next price bucket, and so on, until the entire resale quantity is consumed.

Note

The Transaction Effective Date in the price bucket Header determines which price bucket is older.
