Use

On the Trade Spends/Volumes tab page, you can carry out forecasting. It is mainly used for  trade promotions or trade promotion elements but can also be used for campaigns. You can use it, for example, to

·         plan several trade spends for a trade promotion and for particular planning customers or target groups

·         retrieve the listed price of promoted products. The listed price is always displayed in the sales unit of measure. It is retrieved from the product master using the condition technique. The system reads the condition table/type for the promoted product in the product master. To display the listed price, you must enter a Type on the Basic Data tab page and also enter sales org data.

·         apply the buying pattern defined for the planning customer to the trade spend key figures

·         carry out key figure planning based on the baseline volume calculated from APO

·         calculate promotion revenue based on baseline sales

·         plan the cost of free goods. See Free Goods in Volumes/Trade Spends.

·         generate pricing conditions

Prerequisites

You need to make the following settings in Customizing:

·         Define a campaign type under Customer Relationship Management  ®  Marketing Planning and Campaign Management  ®  Basic Data  ®  Define Campaign Types/Objectives/Tactics

·         Define a planning profile group under Customer Relationship Management  ®  Marketing Planning and Campaign Management  ®  Key Figure Planning  ®  Define Planning Profile Groups. The planning profile group must contain a planning profile of type Volumes/Trade Spends and you need to set the indicator New KPI flag. You must also enter a working version for planning.

If you are using the deal master, you must enter a source planning profile. The deal’s planning data will then be copied when you enter the planning profile group in the trade promotion you generate from a deal.

·         Define trade spend information under Customer Relationship Management  ®  Marketing  ®  Marketing Planning and Campaign Management  ®  Key Figure Planning  ®  Define Trade Spends for Expected Values

·         Make the settings for condition generation under Customer Relationship Management  ®  Marketing  ®  Marketing Planning and Campaign Management  ®  Condition Maintenance  ®  Condition Generation

·         Define additional date ranges under Customer Relationship Management  ® Marketing  ®Marketing Planning and Campaign Management  ® Basic Data  ®Define Additional Date Ranges. Note that you cannot have gaps or overlaps between pre-dip, buying and post-dip date ranges. You must enter a period type in this activity for planning in SAP SEM/BW.

·         When you are setting up your planning layout for this key figure planning, note that you can only use one planning layout. This can include several planning functions or sequences but these must be part of the planning layout. These planning functions will be shown in a drop-down box on the relevant tab page.

Procedure

Here is the procedure for showing this tab page for a trade promotion:

·         Select a deal and generate a trade promotion. All information from the deal will be copied to the newly created trade promotion or

·         Create a promotion with description, ID and planning customer

On the Basic Data  tab page, enter the following information:

·         Enter a campaign type and sales organization. You need to enter a campaign type and sales organization to be able to automatically generate conditions and retrieve the listed price.

·         Enter a planning profile, for example, 4TPM Trade Promotion Management (Standard)

·         Enter a buying pattern type. For information on the buying pattern, see Basic Data for Trade Promotions and Using the Buying Pattern in Planning.

·         Enter start and end dates for the promotion and additional dates. You need to enter a value for the date with the period type Buying to be able to maintain trade spends. Only additional dates defined with a period type are sent to SAP SEM.

·         Enter a currency

On the Products tab page, you can assign products to your promotion. These can later be deselected from the promotion directly on the Trade Spends/Volume tab page.

On the Trade/Spends/Volumes tab page:

·         Enter trade spend information. The trade spend data is validated against the Customizing made for condition generation. There is a defaulting mechanism in the trade spends grid. You must enter a spend type. If only one spend category has been defined in Customizing for this spend type, then this is defaulted. A similar logic applies for the spend method. This is defined in Customizing as dependent on the spend type and spend category. The discount method is dependent on the spend type and spend category. The related volume depends on the spend type, spend category and spend method. See the Customizing activity Define Trade Spends for Expected Values. The condition information corresponding to this trade spend is displayed in the grid.

·         The screen is split into two so that once you have entered your trade spend information and selected Transfer Trade Spends, it is sent and displayed directly in SAP SEM in the lower part of the tab page.

·         You can also enhance the functions available for your trade spends using the BAdI for enhanced KPI functionality. This BAdI is available in Customizing under Marketing Planning and Campaign Management  ®  Key Figure Planning  ®  Business Add-Ins  ®  BAdI: Enhanced KPI Functionality
The delivered BadI allows you to automatically display the key figures related to a trade spend assignment.  It also allows you to freeze the pre-dip and post-dip periods so that no data can be entered as the planned value for a trade spend is only applicable for the buying period.

Conditions can be generated automatically directly from the planning data you enter on the Trade Spends/Volumes tab page by choosing Generate Conditions. Afterwards, you can maintain the pricing conditions on the Discounts tab page. For more information on using Trade Spends/Volumes with conditions, see Condition Generation in the Marketing Planner.

You can also manually trigger the settlement of individual rebate agreements in SAP R/3 by choosing Release for Settlement. For more information, see Interaction of Rebate Agreements with SAP R/3.

To keep track of your marketing activities, you may want to look at versions of your planning data from various different stages, for example, at the outset and then two weeks into a promotion and compare them. You can define these versions in Customizing for Marketing Planning and Campaign Management under Key Figure Planning  ®Version Management.
