Call
Execution and Reporting
You can use this
business process to execute and document a call to a selected doctor
(customer). You use SAP CRM Enterprise to access the relevant functions of
Activity
Management.

For more information on Activity Management, see the SAP Library under mySAP Customer Relationship Management ® Sales.

The following business process runs in SAP CRM Enterprise:
...
1. Document call
You start Activity Management to document the call to the doctor.
2. Select activity journal template
You create a new activity, for example, of the type Pharmaceuticals-Sales Call and choose a pharmaceuticals-specific template for the activity journal. The template for the activity journal provides possible entries, such as product, batch or quantity. You can also predefine the products for which samples are to be issued in the template.
3. Drop samples
After you have issued the doctor with some drug samples during the call, you record this process using an activity journal. You document the call using the predefined contents of the template for the activity journal. The activity journals may contain the following information:
¡ Samples that were discussed and issued during the call to the doctor (selected from the template or added manually)
¡ Number of samples issued
¡ Returns
¡ Request for physician’s areas of interest
You can also enter additional information that is not contained in the template. The system checks whether the legal requirements of sample issuing have been observed (for example, it checks the maximum quantity of samples and the doctor’s licenses, and makes a comparison against the DEA schedule).
4. Order samples for professional
If you do not have sufficient samples, you can also order samples for the doctor. Your company will then send the drugs samples to the doctor at a later date.
5. Set activity status to completed
Close the activity and set its status to Completed.
