Use

OR settlement (license settlement) has been implemented using the IPMO application.

Integration

The BEA_IPMO application can process data from various sources according to the business process phase.

¡        Confirmation data from the IPM confirmation is entered in OR settlement using the rights sales contract.

¡        The IPMO application can also communicate with the R/3 FI module and the Accrual Engine using the appropriate BDocs.

Example

Example: OR contracts often use paid revenues reported from FI and recognized revenues reported from the Accrual Engine as basic values. These revenues are transferred to OR pricing, where the paid and recognized revenues required are calculated.

¡        A product sales report from an external system (or the R/3 SD module) or the CRM module can also transfer any number of different sales documents for the same OR key in the same settlement period.

Following processing in the BEA-IPMO application, revenue recognition is performed for the data using CO objects and a billing document is created.

The billing document created is transferred again) to FI.

Prerequisites

The IPMO Billing Engine application is supplied with the ‘IP’ royalties key only.

To define your own attributes for characterizing the rights sold and defining outgoing royalties, you must make customer-specific enhancements to the IPMO application.

The procedure for doing so is described in the Customizing documentation under: Customer Relationship Management ® Industry-Specific Solutions ® Media ® Intellectual Property Management ® Billing and Settlement ® Outgoing Royalties ® Adjust BE Application for Settlement of Outgoing Royalties.

By defining a separate application, you can define the type and number of attributes required.

Background

The CRMB Billing Engine application (CRM Billing) inherits its structure to the IPMI application (IR settlement, see also Incoming Royalties Billing). This application in turn inherits its structure to the IPMO application.

For further information on OR settlement, see Outgoing Royalties Settlement.
