Function documentation Assigning Products Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can assign a product, which you want to promote, to a campaign, deal or trade promotion.

In contrast to assigning product catalogs and catalog variants in the Marketing Planner, you use this function if you want to promote the sale of a manageable number of products. You use this function especially for promotions, or if you want to offer a product under special conditions in the framework of a campaign.

As well as assigning individual products, you also have the following options:

Prerequisites

·        You have already created master data for the product. In the Easy Access Menu, go to Master Data -> Products -> Maintain Products. See Products.

·        For assigning products in Mobile Sales, you have loaded the material master data from CRM Enterprise.

·        The campaign type must allow for the assignment of products. Campaign types are defined in Customizing for Marketing Planning and Campaign Management under Basic Data -> Define Campaign Types/Objectives/Tactics.

·        Product hierarchies and product groups can be defined in Customizing for Marketing Planning and Campaign Management under Product Assignments  -> Assign Product Hierarchies.

Functional Scope

You can assign one or more products to a campaign or a promotion.

The assigned products are displayed in the structure tree. You can display an overview of the products assigned to a particular campaign or promotion in the work area by selecting the Products tab page.

In CRM Enterprise, you can display a particular product’s master record directly in the Marketing Planner by clicking on the product in the structure tree.

Products assigned to a particular campaign can also be used as product proposals in the Interaction Center (IC).

Activities

To assign a product, choose the Products tab page.

In the field Product ID, you can enter the product you wish to assign to a campaign.

If you wish to assign a product category, you enter the product category in the Category ID field. You then assign all products in this product category to your campaign. If you wish to delete certain products from this product category and not include them in the campaign, you can select these products and delete them individually. Similarly, there are fields for entering a product hierarchy or product group.

In the field Product Deselect Flag, you can remove products from planning without having to delete them physically. In this way, the products remain assigned to the campaign or promotion but are inactive. Products that are not valid for a sales areas are then automatically deselected.

Specifics of Mobile Sales

·        You assign products to a campaign or trade promotion in the Marketing/Products tile set. On the Product Details tile, you set the criteria for the selection of the products.

·        Assigned products appear in a list format on the Products tile in both the Marketing/Details and the Marketing/Products tile sets for the selected campaign or trade promotion.

·        Choosing Mass Assign on the Products tile, allows you to link multiple products to a campaign or trade promotion without having to specify individual products. You can make selections for product aggregations such as product hierarchy, brand, or product group. As in the Marketing Planner, when you make selections in more than one product aggregation field, the system retrieves only those products that match all the selected criteria.

Note

For optimal performance, SAP recommends that you assign no more than 200 products to a single campaign or trade promotion.

·        In Mobile Sales the Product Deselect Flag field is called the Deselect Flag. It is used mainly for condition generation and planning purposes. It can be set in case no conditions are to be generated for a product related to a trade promotion, or if the deselected product should not appear in the planning worksheets.

·        The Free Good field contains information about a promotional item that is assigned to a campaign or trade promotion. You can maintain this field if a corresponding trade spend is maintained for a trade promotion. The Inclusion Flag field shows if the free good is to be included in the shipment to the customer.

·        You can run a PPR check to filter products by sales area for trade promotions only, not for campaigns.
