Purpose

You use this business process in order to support all shipping activities like picking, packing, transport and goods issue. All information regarding shipping planning is stored in outbound delivery, the status of shipping activities is monitored, and data gathered during the course of shipping processing is recorded. By creating outbound delivery, shipping activities are started, and data is transferred that is generated during shipping processing.

Prerequisites

You have created a sales order in SAP CRM, and it has been replicated to SAP R/3.

Process Flow

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

The following process takes place in SAP R/3.

       1.       Create outbound delivery

You create an outbound delivery from the sales order that has been replicated from SAP CRM. For more information, see Structure linkCreating Outbound Deliveries. You can call up a new availability check for the delivery with shipping and transportation scheduling in SAP APO.

During outbound delivery processing, the following activities are performed independently of each other:

¡        SAP APO creates delivery requirements based on the delivery. Customer requirements are reduced or deleted in SAP APO accordingly.

¡        SAP R/3 transfers the status to SAP CRM. The status of the sales order is refreshed, and the document flow is updated there.

       2.       Pick and pack goods

You can find more information under Structure linkPicking and Structure linkPacking.

       3.       Post goods issue

You save the outbound delivery for transportation. For more information, see Structure linkGoods Issue Posting. After goods issue has been posted, SAP APO reduces the delivery requirement and updates stocks. The costs for the sales are posted in SAP R/3 Financials in the accounting profitability accounting.

       4.       Execute transportation

For more information, see the SAP Library under Logistics ® Logistics Execution (LE) ® Transportation (LE-TRA).
