You can use this business process to support automatic inventory management of samples, namely:
· Posting issued drug samples in a pharmaceuticals field sales representative’s inventory
· Repeat orders of drug samples
· Physical inventory of the field sales representative’s inventory
In the last two cases, comparison with the actual stock is also supported.

You create a sales order for purchase orders for samples. Purchase orders for samples can either be created for a doctor or for the field sales representative. If you want to create an order for samples for a doctor, you can have the system create it automatically from an activity by setting the Order Samples indicator.

SAP CRM Enterprise replicates the sales order in SAP R/3.

The system automatically triggers the subsequent steps (delivery, account assignment).
5. Acknowledge receipt of delivery
If you, as a field sales representative, receive a delivery to replenish your stock, you confirm the quantity delivered.

If necessary, an office-based employee adjusts the stock, for example, if fewer samples were actually delivered than were ordered.
