IPI and ICMS Tax LawsThe IPI tax law regulates which products are subject to which forms of IPI.
If any order item is subject to any form of IPI other than the basic rate, the authorities require you to print the text of the IPI tax law on the nota fiscal. The same is true for ICMS. In addition, the tax laws are also used in the legal file IN86 (Instrução Normativa 86).
In Customizing for CRM, define the tax laws and assign them to an document type and item category, by choosing Transactions ® Country-Specific Functions ® Nota Fiscal ® Item Categories.
When a sales clerk creates an order, the system automatically assigns an IPI tax law and an ICMS tax law to each item, as described above. The laws are displayed on the Prices tab. If they are incorrect, the clerk can overwrite them.
When the billing clerk prints out the nota fiscal, the tax law texts are printed on it, if necessary.
In addition, the
ICMS taxability, which is linked to ICMS tax law, is printed in the each order
item’s
tax
situation.
