Partner Planning 
You use this process as a channel manager to plan targets for partners that sell brand owner’s products. Planning can be performed for partners that sell brand owner’s products on behalf of the brand owner and also for partners that sell brand owner’s products independently.
You have followed
prerequisites described for
Sales Target
Planning since both sales target planning and partner planning use the
same planning area. Moreover, both processes are loosely integrated with SAP
CRM.

1. Perform situation analysis (using SAP BW)
You perform situation analysis using the Business Information Warehouse (BW) System.
2. Receive sales targets (SAP SEM)
You receive the sales targets and budgets in the Strategic Enterprise Management (SEM) System.
3. Select channel partner and product category (SAP SEM)
You decide on a channel partner and also select the product category for planning.
4. Plan quantity and revenue (SAP SEM)
You plan key figures such as revenue and quantity. When you save data, the results are sent to SAP BW.
5. Check plan/target achievement (SAP SEM)
You and your respective channel partners check planned figures against the targets set for a channel partner. If necessary you make the required changes in the sales plan.
6. Release plan for approval (SAP SEM)
You release the sales plan for your manager’s approval.
7. Manager approves plan (SAP SEM)
8. Release product quantity for capacity planning (SAP SEM)
If you are using the Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) System then depending on the status of the sales plan, the SEM System releases the planned product quantity information for capacity planning to APO.
9. System receives product data (SAP APO)
10. Monitor plan/actual comparison (Using SAP BW)
You and your respective channel partners monitor the planned figures against the actual sales on an on-going basis. If required, you adjust the sales targets.
11. Perform a rolling plan
You execute rolling planning in order to replace plan values with the actual values of the previous period within a fixed time frame.
