Resale and Claim Message
Processing
This process enables you to:
· Track resale made by your channel partners.
This tracking enables you to pay incentives and commissions to your channel partners. It also enables you to obtain information on the final value realized from the resale customer and, thereby, analyze the gross profit margin booked by the channel partner.
·
Update
channel inventory with resale information sent by your channel
partners.
This updating enables you to track the position of the channel partner’s open stock, and its break up along the acquisition price for the channel partner. This also enables you to analyze your own gross profit margin on a resale that the channel partner made.
·
Settle
ship-and-debit
claims sent by
your channel partners.
Ship-and-debit claims can be transparently settled when your system can match up the claim with the underlying resale and the price bucket it consumed and thereby, pull out the price that the channel partner paid for the quantity that it resold.

1. The channel partner sends a resale & claim message.
The system summarizes the transmission in transmission management.
2. Your Resale Coordinator releases the transmission.
For more
information, see:
Transmission Management
3. The system points out the errors in the resale and claim items based on the criteria you have configured.
For more
information, see:
Validate Resale and Claim
Data
4. The Resale Coordinator obtains the missing/correct information from the channel partner, and applies the corrections.

You can
mass correct resale & claim
records where the same
set of errors recur in multiple items.
5.
You trigger the
system to
update channel
inventory with resale, and further process claim data.
The system
performs
duplicate check
according to the criteria that you have configured.
6.
The system
calculates claim
amount and creates a credit memo request. It
replicates credit memo request in SAP R/3 system for billing.
7. The output from credit memo created in the SAP R/3 system is received in SAP CRM.
8. You trigger the system to update resale & claim record with the credit memo info.

The channel partner can also send separate claim and resale messages. The system would then selectively perform the relevant updates described above, based on the message type for the record.
If you have configured the system for this purpose, the system sends a claim acceptance/rejection message to the channel partner at the end of claim processing.
