Activity
An activity is a document used to record information or plan actions at any time during the customer relationship life cycle.
Activities can include telephone calls, customer visits, general preparatory tasks, or private reminders. They enable both external and office-based personnel to view their own activities as well as activities created by others, in order to gather information about any previous forms of contact with business partners.
All activities are structured with a header containing basic information and tab pages with more detailed information.
The header contains fields for:
· Description
· Date and time
· Category
· Partner information
The Details tab page is divided into tiles that contain detailed information about:
· Status, priority, completion rate (SAP Graphical User Interface only) and result of activity
The possible entries for these fields are all
defined in Customizing under Transactions
® Special Settings for Activities.
· Reason and goal of the activity as well as who initiated it (SAP Graphical User Interface only)
· General information, such as who the activity was created by and when
On the other tab pages, you can:
·
Process and
send texts
For more information, see Texts in
Activities.
·
Display and
change information about business partners
For more information, see Partners in
Activities.
· Display organizational data, addresses and the fact sheet (CRM Enterprise only) for the business partner
·
View the
dates in more detail
If you are working with tasks,
the system does not display the tab pages for organizational data, fact sheet
or address because this data is only relevant if the activity contains a
business partner.
There are two types of activities - business activities and tasks.
You can define the activity types and
categories required by your company in Customizing under Transactions
® Settings for Activities.
You can create activities with reference to other transactions, such as opportunities, sales orders or other activities.
Activities in which you are entered as a partner also appear in the appointment calendar and the Business Workplace. If you enter other employees as partners in an activity, the activity also appears in their workplace and calendar.
