Translating Product Models 

Use

The translation function of Internet Pricing and Configurator – Product Modeling Environment (IPC-PME) provides a table that provides a comparison between the language-independent names of characteristics, characteristic values, products, classes, and dependencies with the corresponding language-dependent descriptions. The language-dependent descriptions are displayed for all selected model languages (see Basic Settings ® Set language).

This enables you to check whether all texts are maintained in all languages. You can edit the texts directly in the table.

Activities

       1.      Place the cursor on a product or a class in screen area 2 (see the Figure) of the PME initial screen if you want to call the description of a production or class in the translation table.

       2.      Choose the Characteristics, Formula Dependencies, Table Dependencies, or Conditions for Characteristics tab page if you want to call the related descriptions in the translation table.

       3.      Choose Tools ® Translation. The translation table opens.

       4.      To edit a language-dependent text, select a table field in one of the language columns.
