Background documentation Auction Status Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

As a seller, you will see an auction in one of the following statuses.

Auction Status

Description

Open

When you create an auction the auction is automatically submitted to CRM and the auction status is set to Open.

Note

Auctions in Open status are not visible to customers.

Publish

If you decide to make your auctions visible to potential customers, change the auction status to Publish.

Note

Customers can view a published auction but they are not allowed to bid on the auction items.

Active

If you decide to allow customers to bid on your auction items, change the auction status to Active.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

On the start date of the auction, Dynamic Auction and Bidding automatically changes the auction status to Active.

Finalized

When the auction end date elapses and a winner is determined, the auction status changes to Finalized.

Closed

·        If you want to explicitly close an auction, then change the auction status to Closed.

You cannot only change an Open or Published auction to Closed status.

·        If a winner cannot be determined, the auction status changes to Closed.

If you have set a Reserve price for an auction item and the highest bid is lesser than the Reserve price, then a winner cannot be determined by the System. Hence, it automatically closes the auction.
