Scenario: SAP Internet Sales

Business Scenario

Your company uses SAP Internet Sales to sell configurable products over the Internet. Your customers visit your Web site, view and select product options, see how much it all costs, and trigger a sales order. You then upload order information to your SAP System. When your customers select a configurable product, the configuration and pricing are done by the Internet Pricing and Configurator.

Process Flow

All the R/3 data that the Internet Pricing and Configurator requires to configure products is downloaded to the CRM consolidated database.

  1. The customer selects a configurable product from the product catalog on your website.

This opens a subscreen, where the customer selects the product options she/he requires.

This subscreen is SAP Internet Sales' interface to the Internet Pricing and Configurator, which incorporates the SCE.

  1. As the customer selects different options, she/he can see the price for the product in its current configuration.
  2. Once the configuration is complete, the customer can put the product in the electronic shopping basket.
  3. Once the customer has put everything that she/he wants to purchase in the shopping basket, the customer saves and triggers an order.
  1. The configuration data is saved in the CRM system and can be post-processed there.
  2. Using the CRM middleware, the configuration data can be transferred to R/3 for further processing.
