Creating a Change list

Prerequisites

You have a unique user ID and password for the Business Application Studio to create your own change list.

Procedure

Creating a Change List while Logging into the Business Application Studio

  1. Log into the Business Application Studio.
  2. The Business Application Studio checks your user ID and password. If both are valid, the Select a Changelist screen appears.

  3. Choose New.
  4. The Create New Changelist window appears displaying the default name of the new change list. You can change the name according to the standard naming conventions.

If the name is prefixed with a namespace, do not to delete it or the underscore that follows it, otherwise the namespace validation will fail. However, you can change the namespace if the repository has more than one namespace assigned to it. For more information on namespaces, see Working with Namespaces.

In case you have deleted or changed the namespace, remember to maintain the case-sensitivity when you enter it again.

  5. Choose OK.

The change list appears in the list for selection. Depending on the context in which you want to work you can choose the change list or baseline.

Creating a Change List from the Change List Browser

  1. Open the Change List Browser.
  2. Choose the folder My Open Changelists.
  3. Right-click and choose New.
  4. The Changelist window appears displaying the default details of the new change list. If necessary, you can make the required changes.

  5. Save the change list.

The view of the repository objects is still in the context of the baseline.

In the Change List browser, you can switch the context between the change list and baseline. Choose the change list® right-click and choose Switch to. Once you switch to a change list, it is highlighted in bold.

Result

The Business Application Studio creates the new change list, which you can view in the Change List Browser under the folder My Open Changelists. Now you can configure the required development objects.
