Assigning Authorizations 

Use

Use the following objects to assign authorizations for accessing and maintaining product catalog data:

Authorization object

Authorization level

  • COM_PCAT

Catalogs

  • COM_PC_LOC

Lists of catalog characteristics

 

You can protect the following activities by using authorization checks:

  1. Create
  2. Change
  3. Display
  4. Delete

The system checks the authorization at the catalog level during the initial replication of the product catalog data on the Index server, and during the XML export of product catalog data. Assign the authorization "Display", in order to carry out these functions.

Integration

You assign authorizations in the R/3 System. There has been no role-defined authorization concept up until now. That is, the individual business roles are not uniformly linked to pre-assigned authorizations.
